NIST Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program (N-STEP) Grant Awarded to Z-senz
The Maryland Technology Development Corp. (TEDCO) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) said on Tuesday they have awarded Gaithersburg-based Z-senz with the first NIST Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program (N-STEP) grant. The company received $112,000 to develop resonant light detection and ranging (R-LIDAR) electronics for small unmanned aerial vehicles.

Input Sought From Businesses Working in the Defense Industry
 In effort to get a clear picture of how Maryland businesses could be affected by changes to the national defense budget, the Maryland Department of Commerce is partnering with the U.S. Department of Defense to map the state’s defense supply chain. To better understand the current situation and work toward vital economic diversification efforts, Commerce has collaborated with Towson University’s Regional Economic Studies Institute to develop a survey.

Businesses that work with defense agencies are asked to complete the survey and upload a list of suppliers to ensure the capture of as much information as possible about this industry sector. The survey is open through June 15 and all information provided will…

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) is excited to share the release of two new draft Project Descriptions for the consumer-facing/retail sector: Multifactor Authentication for e-Commerce and Securing Non-Credit Card, Sensitive Consumer Data.

These draft descriptions outline particular cybersecurity problems that are relevant to the consumer-facing/retail sector.
