Boards & Committees

Montgomery County continuously works with the local business community to improve its programs and services.

The Department of Economic Development has many ad hoc and permanent boards and commissions which provide guidance on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Agricultural Advisory Committee, which serves as a bridge between the County government and the agricultural sector in order to coordinate local government services in rural areas and to provide advice on issues impacting the County’s rural and agricultural areas.
  • Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board, a standing committee that oversees the County’s programs that protect farmland for future generations and makes recommendations to State and County officials regarding farmland preservation issues.
  • Workforce Investment Board, which seeks to increase awareness of workforce development issues and to strengthen the County workforce development system by developing partnerships with business, government and community-based organizations.
